Amberleigh Egg Hunt:

It’s that time of year again!! Our community Spring Egg Hunt is scheduled for March 27th from 2 to 3:30. The rain date will be Sunday the 28th (same time). We are planning for the younger children to participate in the first egg hunt which will be at 2:30 and the older kids to be in the second egg hunt at 3:00. Please be on time so you don’t miss the start of the hunts! If you are too big to participate in the egg hunts then please come and enjoy a free snow cone from Capital Snow while also visiting with your neighbors. The location for this event is the playground at the back entrance of our community. The “Dinosaur Playground” on Windridge Drive. Masks are required and please observe social distancing guidelines. Thank you!

If you would like to help with this event, please email Meg at mwrverstraten@gmail.com. She has been putting on these events for five years and sadly this will be her last Community Egg Hunt so if there is someone that would like to take over this wonderful event for next year, please contact her and help out this year to learn the ropes. It would be a shame to not have this beloved event continue in the years to come.

Landscaping:

Amberleigh’s landscaping contractor, Shenandoah, will be planting shrubs, trees, bushes and other greenery throughout the community this spring as well as watering them to ensure they get a good start before the summer heat begins. These additions should significantly enhance our community’s appearance and will replace some of the many plantings we’ve lost due to storms, droughts, and the ravages of time.

Spring cleaning:

Spring is a great time to clean up, remove what isn’t needed, and freshen up our homes. Unwanted items should not be stored outside of your yard’s fence or tossed into the woods behind our homes. That is not permitted and makes Amberleigh look unsightly and shabby.  Many items may be donated to local charities, recycled, or removed by Trash Away, our trash contractor, if properly coordinated.

Tennis Anyone?

We are so fortunate to have a tennis court in our community.  The court has a special surface designed for tennis (it’s not merely concrete) which may be damaged if used improperly, so please do not allow children to ride bikes there or use it for anything other than playing tennis.
