We’re back online!
Last evening, several parts of our website became unavailable. We are working very hard to build a new website that’s even better.
So why all the change? The hosting service (where our website actually lives) wasn’t really user-friendly towards hosting a WordPress website like ours. While we could make it work, it still took a lot of work – and hey, we’re volunteers, the overtime was killing us.
So when the server stopped publishing our stuff, now was as good a time as any to move to a hosting service that specializes in the type of website we have anyway. Additionally, the old host had strict limits on space. To stay under that limit, we had to post large files on cloud servers like DropBox and OneDrive – not that we don’t love cloud servers, but it memory so cheep these days, it just seemed a little silly. Our new host has unlimited space.
Over the next few days, we will be importing the old content into the newly designed site. While all the content will be there, it’s possible that the links to the content will be different (sorry).
As we move forward, feel free to share your thoughts and ideas. While we’re still adding the cool features to the site, you can reach us the old fashioned way at: info(at) amberleigh.org.
By the way, did you know the new Springfield Town Center (the former Springfield Mall) is slated to reopen in October. Here is a video the developer put together showing what we can expect.
